We harness the power of science to create air purification solutions that are more powerful than ozone but completely safe.Allergens, bacteria, VOCs, chemicals, and even the H1N1 virus are no match for our Polar Clear Technology featuring third generation TiO2

nasty viruses and bacteria are everywhere right now -seems almost everyone is sick -
nautic air is proven to destroy these airborne illnesses and help keep you healthy -in your home, in schools, at work, etc.

situation

The H1N1 or “swine” flu is now present in all 50 states.  Because of the nature of schools and daycare centers, they are some of the most vulnerable.  Several schools have elected to close to prevent the further spread of the virus.  Not only can this flu be dangerous, but closing schools present a hardship on the students, teachers, and parents who often do no have alternative childcare arrangements.  The CDC expects the cases of H1N1 to continue to rise in the upcoming weeks which may result in additional school closings.  Even schools that do not close, must replace sick teachers and staff as well as work around a high absenteeism rate among students.   Bottom line - nobody wants our children at risk.

Many of the  highly affected schools are bringing in outside cleaning companies to thoroughly clean the buildings.   Experts have determined that surface cleaning alone is ineffective at preventing the spread of these germs.  It is important to understand just what influenza viruses are and how they are spread.

Why are schools such havens for flu and viral transmission?

Dry environments - many schools have 15 -25% relative humidity levels indoors. Viruses thrive in dry air and allow them to circulate longer. Indoor air currents from HVAC system and people movement assure that droplet nuclei remain airborne.

Low MERV Filter ratings - many schools have low MERV rate filters like MERV 1-6 which are ineffective at capturing airborne human germs.  You need a MERV 13 or higher to have any real effect on airborne viral capture. The higher the MERV rating, the smaller the virus it can capture.(Our na20 and na30 units have MERV ratings of 14)

Bathrooms with ceiling exhaust fans - toilet water aerosolization can spread viruses and bacteria up to 10 ft.  Ceiling   Exhausts are often within feet of fresh air makeup.

Influenza A type viruses cause disease primarily in the lungs as it loves to infect the respiratory system.  It is not rhinovirus (cold) which primarily causes infection in the nose and upper respiratory system.  While handwashing is a good defense against many infections, you are still fully exposed to airborne Influenza viruses entering and depositing into your lungs regardless of how sterile your hands.

Influenza A is so dangerous because it infects and destroys its victim’s lung tissue.  This damage compromises the lung’s protective layers which can lead to pneumonia or massive bacterial infection (including staph infections such as MRSA).

Airborne transmission depends of people to launch viruses into the air.  Keep in mind that studies indicate  30 -50% of carriers do not exhibit symptoms.

Frequent handwashing, covering the mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing, and keeping infected persons at home might work in a perfect world.    But  children rarely follow these guidelines.  And 30 - 50% of infected carriers won’t show active symptoms the entire time they are contagious.

To slow the spread of Influenza and other airborne hazards, the cycle must be broken and the infectious droplets actually REMOVED from the air.  One of the most effective methods is to combine PCO (photocatalytic oxidation) with a polarized, high-MERV filter.  Layering this technology can provide a lethal force to prevent distribution of not just the H1N1, but all other Influenza type viruses and most bacteria, molds, and toxic gases into occupied spaces.

Our PolarCleartm technology does just that and is proven to remove airborne contaminants down to .0001 microns in size.  The powerful na20 mounts right inside the central HVAC units to provide clean air to all areas served by that system.  The portable na30 units can be placed in areas not on the central systems or immediately in classrooms, cafeterias, health offices, etc..

Clean air is not just important during flu season - growing numbers of children and staff suffer from allergies - both seasonal, specific,  and mold related.  These allergies are often aggravated while at school and lead to higher levels of absenteeism and poorer performance (children with animal allergies, pollen allergies, or asthma can be trigger by allergens and smoke residue that is carried into school by other children and staff).  Clean, pure air makes every one feel and learn better.

Keeping children healthy - this is why nautic air was created.
